Yucaipa’s Aquatic program is going strong

It’s a high five kind of day.

Yucaipa Aquatics is a family oriented non-profit organization that prides itself on being welcoming to all. This organization not only has a competitive swim team for ages 5 to 18 but also has a master’s program. The masters program is a great way to stay in shape; some compete, others come in to better themselves in a low impact, move at your own pace, supportive environment. Yucaipa Aquatics is also active in the para-swimming community currently training autistic and disabled athletes.

“It’s quite inspiring seeing athletes in wheelchairs on the pool deck, getting right in and not letting anything hold them back” said Geoffrey Tamura, father of two-age group athletes, retired veteran, and current masters swimmer.

Yucaipa Aquatics, in conjunction with the city of Yucaipa, also offers a multi-level Learn-to-Swim program at the Seventh Street pool. The program is designed for children of all ages. Students progress through the levels at their own pace, mastering the skills in one level before advancing to the next. Each level of the Learn-to-Swim program includes training in basic water safety and helping others in an emergency, in addition to stroke development. Yucaipa Aquatics is a growing family oriented aquatics program that inspires and challenges members of all ages and ability levels.
