At the Stage Coach Country Music Festival in Indio, they played country music for five days and collected three million dollars. Yet Yucaipa’s leaders have not had the time to understand country music.

It is worth putting on at the new performing arts center in Yucaipa. All of these things, elemental human emotions, that make great country music.

Country music is a part of the American history and our lives, whether you realize it or not. I think it is completely wrong, the cities perception of country music.

I hope we are going to finally get the respect that country music should have, to understand the history of country music. I have had the privilege of working with country musicians and America loves country music. The Stage Coach Festival has proven that.

You'd be happy to hear that the Yucaipa Performing Arts Center just announced its first bluegrass/folk/"country" band, Della Mae slated to play at the indoor theater Oct. 3 at 8 PM. The theater is welcoming many different genres in hopes to bring the community together, and country/bluegrass is most definitely on the calendar in the coming months! Please keep an eye out in the News Mirror as well as @yucaipaperformingarts on social media for some excellent talent! [smile]
