It’s been one hard road to follow, like it or not. Sometimes it’s steep, rough and narrow with twists like a knot. It’s been one hard road just hauling that payload, the one they call “freedom.”  It’s been one hard road to travel. No one said it’s smooth. Some people still get unraveled, some coming unglued. It’s been one hard road protecting that cargo, the one they call “freedom.” I’d thought we’d made progress somewhere down the line. Now, every mile forward, seems we fall back in time. Moving onward, pushing forward seems like forever ... It’s been one hard road through history and still we’re not there. Hatred and fear are no mystery. They dare us to care. It’s been one hard road finding our way home, the one they call “freedom.”
