Deaths and injuries caused by military-type guns are routinely reported by the media. The number of people being lost in the U.S. exceeds the proportions found in similar worldwide data. Why is it so? A 2019 countermeasure program needs a validated database drawn from our current real-world environment for developing practical controls. Event reports identify the guns and munitions being used that can be counted to provide basic statistics. Causal factors, like drugs, mental illness, etc., need to be quantified so they can be used with gun data in a treatment system designed to reduce the violent human losses. Gun information makes it a good place to start while other data is being gathered.

To help politicians learn the magnitude and nature of our gun concerns your bilateral votes and comments are urgently needed. Success depends on an open and logical consideration of all causation issues.
