Our Governors inclusion of San Bernardino County in his re-shut down is truly absurd. As of today (7/5) the County Department of Public Health web site shows 13,676 cases of COVID 19, with a “projected” recovery rate of 7,800. Using their numbers, in a County of 2.18 million residents, there are 5,876 current cases of the virus and 269 deaths. This means that only .00265% of the residents have been infected.
It also means that of the 13,676 of those that contracted COVID, the death rate is less than .02%. These numbers show that if you are one of the approx. 2.2 million residents in our County, you have a .00012% chance of dying from Covid 19. I am not going to argue the mask vs. no mask debate. My point is simple and should not require further explanation. It is clear that the shut down (at least here, in our county) is ridiculous and can only be attributed to politics - not the facts.
