Crafton Hills College is now contemplating making the campus smoke free. As a student I say, it's about time. I have had asthma my entire life and my number one trigger is cigarette smoke. I for one am sick and tired of getting an asthma attack just because I stepped out of my class room and my fellow students are smoking outside.

I believe that while at school I shouldn't have to worry about this. Crafton has already banned guns on campus. Gun deaths account for 30,500 deaths per year. While cigarette smoke accounts for 480,000 deaths a year. So why wouldn’t we make it a smoke free campus as well? On behalf of the students of Crafton Hills, I urge them to pass this and make the campus a healthy and smoke free environment.
