Please, please, please, don’t make the disastrous decision to put roundabouts at this interchange just to save a few bucks.

Consider this: Thanks to the approval of the Gateway warehouse on Cherry Valley Boulevard, more than 600 big rigs a day will be using that interchange along with passenger vehicles. And remember that the residents of no fewer than three senior communities use that interchange on a regular basis.

Have any of you been down to Cabazon and watched an 18-wheeler trying to navigate the roundabouts at the shopping center? If so, you know what I’m talking about.

In Canada, there are road signs warning car drivers to not even enter a roundabout when an 18-wheeler is on it. Is that what we want?

I urge the  Calimesa City Council not to be penny-wise and pound-foolish.
