Timothy Burt Freetly 66, died Oct. 28, 2022, at home, after a long battle with liver cancer.
Tim was born on Aug. 25, 1956, in Lynwood.
Tim spent his life in sunny Southern California, working in the auto body business. His family owned and operated Freetly Auto Glass in Banning for many years. He also worked for the general telephone company. He spent much of his earlier years riding his Harley Davidson all over California with his friends.
Tim was very well-known, well-liked, and passionate about life. Tim left behind numerous lifelong friends who will always remember him for his great sense of humor, sharp wit, and compassionate nature. He was always offering his help to others in need. He will always be remembered as a true friend and sincerely missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by Linda Steele; three children, Kenneth W. Freetlyof West Covina, Timothy C. Freetly of Honolulu and Lindsey M. Freetly of Beaumont; stepchildren Jeremy P. Veldman, Helene N. Watson, Josiah D Harding, and Danny and Robin Parnell; and four granddaughters Delilah, Ella, Lily, and Sequoia; four sisters Patricia Johnson of Yucaipa, Linda Terry of Chino Valley, Ariz., Kathleen Carlisle of Cherry Valley, and Tina Schmidt of Banning; two brothers, Patrick Freetly of Pahrump, Kevin Freetly of Cherry Valley.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Roberta Constance Queen and Charles “Chuck” Oliver Freetly, and by his brother Dennis Freetly. Tim was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Tim’s family invites friends and loved ones to join in a celebration of his life on Dec. 3, 2022, at 4 p.m. at Set Free Church 13700 Calimesa Blvd. in Yucaipa. Following the service, there will be a gathering at 39060 Cherry Valley Blvd., Cherry Valley.
