Timothy John Best, a Redlands native who taught drafting and coached football at Yucaipa High School for 31 years, died on Dec. 12, 2020, after a battle with Lewy Body, a form of dementia.
He was 56.
Born on Sept. 11, 1964, to Bob and Sally Best, he graduated from Redlands High in 1983 and earned a master’s degree in 1991.
Tim Best taught drafting and architecture and coached for 31 years in Yucaipa.
He married his high school sweetheart, Wendy, in 1990 and designed two custom homes where they raised their four sons.
His brother Jeff preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife; mother Sally Cummings and father Robert Best; stepmom Martha Best; four sons, Steven, 25, Andrew, 22, Matthew, 19, and Dillon 16; brother Greg Best; sister Leslie Best-Graw; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
