Sylvia Tansy, 97, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019 in Calimesa after her long battle with dementia.
Born May 27, 1922 in Wall, S. D., Sylvia lived a full life married with children, grand children and even great grandchildren.
A true Rosie Riveter, Sylvia worked hard in the factories during WWII, spent time dedicated to her family, loved music where she was known for her harmonica skills and the ability to play most any instrument she picked up and she even wrote poetry getting a special poem about her granddaughter published. Sylvia was a great seamstress, could knit and crocheted most anything (and she did!), she loved her crossword puzzles and word games and as an avid gardener, you knew her yard by the size of her plentiful roses and other blooming plants.
She was preceded in death by her husband, B.D. Tansy in 2012 and her son Robert L. Tansy also in 2012.
Sylvia is survived by her brother Glen Lakner and wife Carol, sister Margurethe Morrison, daughter Nancy Currie and son-in-law Paul, grandchildren Twila Cole, Leah Currie, Jana Currie and Toni Forgey-Schmitt along with two great grandchildren.
