Shirley Ann Klinker died on Dec. 5, 2020, at the age of 91.
She was born in East Los Angeles, on May 8, 1929, to Ward and Thelma Milliman. They moved to Redlands, where she graduated from Redlands High School in 1947. Shirley met her husband, Harold, at a choir practice held at Harold's parents’ home. They wed in 1949 and were married for 65 years before Harold passed away in 2014.
They bought a home in Yucaipa, in 1950, where they raised their six children and lived for 41 years. Shirley and Harold were founding members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where Shirley was the organist for the church for many years and was also active as a Bible study leader and Director of Christian Education. She also worked as activities director for three Braswell Family Senior Care locations.
In 1991, Shirley and Harold, moved to Lodi, to be closer to their children and grandchildren. In retirement Shirley enjoyed oil painting, gardening her roses, serving as a Lifelight Bible Study leader at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, and taking care and loving on her grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her six children, Dale Klinker, Matthew Klinker (Jessica), Dan Klinker (Vasi), Brenda Snyder, Christine Boer, and David Klinker (Denise); and 10 grandchildren. Special thanks to the Vienna Convalescent Hospital and her caregivers.
Shirley's family held a private gathering over Zoom the week after her passing.
