Mary Jane Young Ellsworth, 83, passed away on May 28, 2019. Mary Jane was born on Nov. 26, 1935, in Bell.
She grew up in Southgate, where she met her husband, Vernal “Ray” Ellsworth. The two were married in Kanab, Utah, in May of 1950. They moved to Yucaipa in 1959, where they raised their six children.
Mary Jane was an expert homemaker, bowler, and kept active in her church and even served in her church’s Relief Society, a women’s compassionate service organization, as the president, twice.
Anyone who knew Mary Jane knows that she loved to go. She loved traveling with her husband, and spending time with her family and friends. She always looked forward to the family's annual trip - camping at Lake Powell.
Mary Jane is preceded in death by her father and mother, Kenneth and Lora Young, and her brother, Kemp Young.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband, Ray, of 69 years, and her son Kenneth Ellsworth and his wife Jessica, daughter Jeanne Carter and her husband Rondi, son Michael Ellsworth and his wife Pamela, daughter Susan Miskin-Aurich and her husband Dale, daughter Lora Kinder and her husband Gene, son David Ellsworth and his wife Eve, 22 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren (with one on the way), and one great-great grandchild.
Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 12776 Sixth St. in Yucaipa, on Saturday, June 8, at 11 a.m. with a viewing just prior, from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
