Mary Ellen Kessler, 88, died on July 17, 2020, in Redlands.
Mary Ellen, known as “Meg” to her friends and family was born in San Diego on Jan. 22, 1932 to Cletus and Mary Jane (McMillan) Gardner.
She was raised in San Diego and National City. After graduating from Sweetwater High School, she attended Stephens College in Missouri. While there, she met her future husband, Andrew. After they married, they lived in California and raised three daughters.
Meg was a crossing guard for 35 years with Pomona and Yucaipa School Districts.
Meg was of the Catholic faith and was an active member in her parish, being a member of the choir and Catholic Daughters organization.
Meg loved to Jazzercise! She did so well into her 80’s. She enjoyed life and traveled to many places around the world. She gave to many charities, especially to the wellness of animals.
Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Andy and daughter Jo Ellen.
She is survived by daughters, Kristine and Nancy, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A private family burial will take place and a memorial will be at a later date.
