Leora Gail Gerner, 95, passed away on Sept. 2, 2020, at home surrounded by her family.
She was a resident of Yucaipa for the past 30 years and prior to that lived in Redlands for 65 years. She was a graduate of Redlands High School class of 1942, she played the trumpet in the Redlands High marching band alongside her twin brother Leland and sister Rae. Leora married her husband Henry M Gerner in March of 1943, they were married 54 years. Henry passed away in 1996. Leora worked at Winns drug store in Redlands for 35 years.
Leora was very involved in activities in her mobile home park, shuffle board, Bunco, dominoes, holiday potlucks. Leora enjoyed spending time and hosting family dinners with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Henry, daughter Karen Bennett, twin brother Leland, sisters Lorraine, Geraldine and Rae.
Leora is survived by her son Gordon Gerner and wife Simmone of Yakima, Wash., daughter Lori McCormick of Yucaipa, daughter Janie Karnes and son-in-law Gary of Yucaipa; six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.
Graveside services, were held at Hillside Memorial park in Redlands on Sept. 8.
