Judith Ann Kabeary, 81, passed away on Jan. 4, 2020.

She was born Jan. 30, 1938, and raised in North Dakota.

She met her husband, Harland K. Kabeary and they were married in Lakota, N.D., in 1955. The couple moved to Yucaipa, California in 1957.

Judy was a homemaker involved with her children in their sports, church and school activities. She was active in PTA, a member of the Yucaipa Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, curriculum director and Deacon. Judy was an extraordinary artist, seamstress, wood worker, interior designer, furniture upholsterer, volunteer and a lover of animals and people.

After her husband’s retirement, the couple moved to La Pine, Ore., in 1994. Her husband of 44 years passed away in 1999 after which Judy spent two years in Palm Springs but missed La Pine, so she moved back where she designed and built her new home in Ponderosa Pines.

Judy met her loving partner, Earl Leach, there in 2005. They enjoyed traveling the next seven years in Earl’s motorhome, sightseeing and visiting friends and family across the United States.

When health issues made life more challenging for her, they moved to Bend, Ore., in 2011 to be closer to shopping and medical facilities. Judy passed peacefully in her home with the aid of hospice, and with her family at her side.

Judy is survived by her partner, Earl Leach, her children, Keith Kabeary (Lauren), Georgia Smith (Art), her siblings, Debbi Allen (Raul), Rob Ferris (Donna), her grandchildren, Shawna Rankin, Garrett Rankin, Kara Shemo, Krystal Briggs, Kendra Trombino and Kiana Kabeary and four great-grandchildren.

In life, Judy was generous of her time and many talents with friends and family. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by all those fortunate to have known her.
