Josephine (Jody) Turner, 77, passed away on June 20, 2019, after a short battle with lung cancer. She was at home with family and friends by her side.
She was born on Aug. 11, 1941, in Elkmont, Ala. Jody loved Yucaipa and was a resident here for 49 years.
She was a loving and devoted wife, caring for her husband Del, who is a stroke survivor, as a shining example to all who knew her.
Jody made everyone feel welcome into her home, showing off her southern charm. She invested so much into the lives of her family, and will be remembered for thoughtful gift giving, tasty home cooked meals, tea parties, shopping sprees, and many good times.
Friends were important to her as evidenced by many long-lasting relationships. Jody and her friends, both local and far away, impacted each other for decades.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Delbert Turner of Yucaipa; her sons Bryan (Suzie) Doeren of Yucaipa, Tim (Machelle) Turner of Oregon, Dan (Jeanie) Turner of Tennessee; daughter Tamara Turner of San Bernardino; 12 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother Roy McMahan of Alabama; sisters Evelyn Hogan of Alabama, Verna Neville of Alabama; and sister-in-law Donna Turner of Yucaipa.
A party in her honor will be held on Aug. 10, at Centerpoint Church in Calimesa, located at 940 Second St., starting at 10 a.m.
