Edward “Ed” Ireton, 64, died March 1, 2021, surrounded by his wife and children. Ed was diagnosed with terminal cancer in August of 2020 and despite his prognosis, fought valiantly to stay with his loved ones until he was called home to be with the Lord.
Ed was born Sept. 28, 1956, in Falon, Nev., and lived most of his childhood years, and better part of his adulthood as he was starting his family in Fontana. In 1997, Ed and his wife Vickie relocated their young family to Yucaipa.
After working for over 35 years in the fire and security system industry, he retired in the fall of 2020 from SSD Alarms. After retirement, Ed began to enjoy his new role of managing his ever-growing “honey-do” list while doting on his wife of 44 years as he poured her morning coffee and sent her on her way to work each day. When not taking bike rides and walks with Vickie, you could be sure to find him snuggling with his youngest grandbabies, happily sitting on the sidelines of a sports field, in the stands or on a pool deck, cheering on his favorite athletes - his grandkids.
Ed was the beloved husband of Vickie Ireton and supportive and much loved father to Heather (Brian) Seaton, Ed (Vanessa) Ireton, Jessica (Travis) Dennett, and Misti (Michael) Cupples. Ed was a man who treasured every moment with his children, especially as they became parents themselves. He especially treasured his role as proud grandpa “Pop” to his 10 grandchildren, Katie and Blake (Seaton); Kaylie, Kaydan, Eddie and Allie (Ireton); Emma and Jackson (Dennett); and Makynlie and Maverick (Cupples). He is also survived by his four siblings, his in-laws, and countless nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at Wildwood Calvary Chapel in Yucaipa on April 17, 2021, at 10 a.m. The family respectfully asks that attendees wear face masks.
