Carole Lynn Swanner, 67, died Nov. 13, 2021, after a six month battle with brain cancer. She was born May 8, 1954, in San Bernardino, to Mike and Margie Varvis.
Carole graduated from Pacific High School in 1972.
After raising her son and daughter she went back to school to become a nurse and then the academy to become a corrections officer for the California Department of Corrections at Chuckwalla State Prison in Blythe. In 2014, Carole retired and moved to Yucaipa to be closer to her family who was with her when she went home to be with the Lord.
She is survived by her mom Margie Thomas of Yucaipa, her sister Donna Brickley of Yucaipa, her daughter Christy Harker of Yucaipa, her son Michael Harris of Roseville, as well as her son in law Daniel Harker and her most favorite people in the entire world; her grandkids; Blake Harris, Allison Harris, Bennett Harris, Morgan Harker-Bruch, Ryanne Harker
Carole was the best mom and grandma ever. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial will take place Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. at Wildwood Calvary Chapel in Yucaipa.
