Brian Allen Boyd

Brian Allen Boyd died April 12, at age 61 in Loma Linda. A longtime resident of Yucaipa, Brian was the beloved husband of Alycia and father of Blair, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Alyssa, Michael, and Lauren.

Brian was born on April 27, 1959, in Ft. Lee, Va, to Ben and Ellison Boyd. An Army brat, Brian lived all over the world before settling in Yucaipa. After a 25-year career as a Riverside County probation officer, and a Task Force team member, he worked as a Private Investigator for Barrister and a Security Officer at Loma Linda University Health.

Brian was a devoted husband and father. He was always available for his family, no matter what the circumstances. He was a wonderful dad who never missed an opportunity to help his kids, whether it was coaching a team, attending performances, giving words of encouragement, or providing support of any kind.

An active member of The Rock Church and World Outreach Center, Brian was a believer in Jesus Christ, and his faith was displayed through his actions, kindness, and endless service to his church, family, community, and those he protected.

He was a fitness enthusiast his entire life. A blackbelt in Kyokushin karate and member of the Blue Knights and ski patrol, he was an avid scuba diver, cycler, hiker, fisherman, expert marksman, and part of the Revolution Fitness “family.” A champion swimmer at the University of Alaska and Saddleback College, he coached numerous swim teams and was on the Yucaipa U.S. Masters team. It was through swimming that he met Alycia, who also swam competitively and shared his passion for fitness.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Col. Benjamin and Ellison Boyd, and his brother Biff. He is survived by his wife Alycia, his children Blair (Dave), Tyler, Kaitlyn, Alyssa, Michael, and Lauren, grandchildren Dylaney and Masyn, brothers Bruce (Peggy) and Barry (Jenise), nine nieces and nephews and their families, and many friends.

A memorial service will be held on May 22, at 1 p.m., at The Rock Church and World Outreach Center, 2345 S Water-man Ave, San Bernardino. A reception will follow immediately at Najwa’s Mediterranean Cuisine, 24711 Redlands Blvd., Loma Linda.
