Barbara Ann Finn passed away on May 14, after a short battle with cancer. She passed with her children present at her youngest son Mike’s home in Enoch, Utah.
Born on Oct. 20, 1936 she was the youngest daughter of Victor and Gertrude Warde in Cairo, Tenn. She graduated from Rosemead High School in 1954 and still was active in her high school Reunion Committee even up to last year.
She married the love of her life, Donald Finn, in May 1962. Their long and happy marriage prospered and their family grew; Don and Barb together raising five children: (named in birth-order) Sheri, Robert, Starlene, Twilene, and Michael. These five raised a total of 17 grandchildren who then produced 22 great-grandkids.
Barb lost her husband on March 28, 2017 in Riverside after a tough illness. She soon moved to Enoch, Utah afterwards.
She would have wonderful conversations on any subject, from geology to car mechanics to fashion trends, with a kindness and charm appealing to everyone. Though a traditional “Proverbs 31 woman”, she definitely was her own person and respected by all who had the pleasure to know her.
Besides her own children, many kids, now adults, claim her as the Mom they wish they had. She always welcomed them into her house; everyone agreeing Mom made the best chocolate chip cookies on Earth.
Her interests included world travel with her husband Don; compiling an extensive Family Genealogy record; being an active member of The Past Pleasures car club, and camping with her family. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and knitting. She loved her cuddly rescue-kitty, “Alex”, so in lieu of flowers the family requests donations be given in her name to the animal shelter of your choice.
Memorial to be held September 6 through 8 at the Three Peaks Recreation area in Southern Utah.
