On Wednesday, Nov. 29, around 12:30 p.m., a fire broke out in Yucaipa, off Wildwood Canyon and Oak Glen Road; across from the Serendipity events center. 

Yucaipa Fire and Cal Fire are currently at the scene. 

“Over 20 acres have burned, the fire is traveling at a moderate rate and structures are threatened,” said Yucaipa Fire Chief Ron Janssen.

A two car collision caught brush on fire, setting the Wildwood Canyon hills ablaze.

It is unknown if the drivers sustained injuries. 

Although the incident falls under San Bernardino County Jurisdiction, Riverside County Fire is assisting. 

"Oak Glen Road is closed, please stay away from the area," said Yucaipa Police Department's Lieutenant Todd Cole.

Oak Glen Road closed, Wildwood Canyon to Pine Bench is also closed.

Three structures are threatened. 

According to locals, the fire’s smoke can be seen from as far as Rancho Cucamonga. 

 UPDATE: over 35 acres have burned.

UPDATE: the Oak Fire is currently 30 percent contained. Wildwood and Pine Ranch on Oak Glen Road are closed. 

There have been two reported firefighter injuries.

Currently, there are 20 fire engines, eight hand crews, four water tenders, and two helicopters at the scene of the fire.

Around 99 acres have burned.

Fire personnell are expected to fight the fire through the weekend.
