YHS Bonfire begins a three-day Homecoming tradition

Yucaipa High School bonfire is well attended.

The Yucaipa High School Bonfire is a tradition that launched the three-day Homecoming festivities at the school.

Thursday night featured a rally in the gym that highlighted the acrobatic sensations of the YHS Cheerleaders, a high-energy dance performance by the YHS Dance team and a skit that got the crowd pumped. The YHS Football team sat in the front row and led the packed bleachers in shouting and celebrating.

The Homecoming theme was Alice in the Looking Glass. ASB’s “Mad Hatter” announced the 2016 Homecoming court in a colorful presentation.

The large bonfire was right outside the gym where the flames and student enthusiasm grew to new heights.

YHS senior and football star No. 44 Blake Barbour said, “It was a good way to get ready for the Homecoming activities. It allowed all of the school to get together and get excited for the football game as well.”
