Calimesa fire

With winds whipping through the area, a fire erupted in Calimesa, near Mesa View Middle School Thursday, Oct. 10 at around 3 p.m. Multiple mobilehomes are engulfed in flames. Latest update from CAL Fire PIO, 3:35 p.m., CAL FIRE is assisting.   The most recent information was 150+ acres with numerous structures burned.

Update: 4:50 p.m. Superintendent of Schools, Cali Binks, confirmed Mesa View Middle School has been completely evacuated, with no injuries. Approximately 160 students were transported, via buses, to Calimesa Elementary School. Binks urged parents to check the website tomorrow morning for possible school closures.

Riverside County Board of Supervisor Jeff Hewitt just announced the Calimesa Community Center, Norton Younglove,  is open to evacuees.
