Notice of Extension of Candidate Filing Period

For Non-Incumbent Candidates, District 1 and 2

Notice is hereby given that the candidate nomination period for the Nov. 8, 2022, General Municipal Election closed today, Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, at noon. California

Elections Code (§ 10225) allows for a five-calendar day extension of the nomination period for

non-incumbent candidates when one or more of the eligible incumbents fails to file or qualify for

office by the Aug. 12, 2022 deadline.

The city of Yucaipa will be extending the nomination deadline for five calendar days to

Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022, 5 p.m., for non-incumbent candidates to obtain and file

nomination papers for the following offices:

For (1) Member of the City Council (full-term of four years) for District 1

For (1) Member of the City Council (full-term of four years) for District 2

If no one or only one person is nominated for an elective office, appointment to the

elective office may be made as prescribed by §10229, Elections Code of the State of California.

The polls will be open between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
