Wildwood Calvary Chapel dedicatesits new student ministry building

The new student ministry building.

On Sunday, July 7, Wildwood Calvary Chapel joyfully celebrated the next step in its masterplan by dedicating their new student ministry building.

The multi-level 9,400 square foot building features breathtaking views of the Crafton Hills, two large worship centers for junior high and high school students, a recreation room with skee-ball and foosball, an educational classroom, along with an outdoor amphitheater where the youth can gather for worship and fellowship.

Senior Pastor Christopher Fraley, who founded Wildwood back in 1998 as a small home fellowship which has since grown to a 3,000 member church, said that the Lord had pressed on his heart that the next building in the masterplan was to be “a refuge for our youth, a place where they can be taught the Word of God, and enjoy community with one another.”

Soon after the completion of the sanctuary, the process began to construct a building to minister and serve junior high and high school students in the community.

As the church’s elementary school, Wildwood Christian Academy, has grown, the new student ministry building will also house the brand new Wildwood Christian Academy Middle School (sixth to eighth grade), which opens in the 2019/20 school year.

Fraley said, “Many years ago, before Wildwood started in a home fellowship, I prayed that God would do something in our church that only He could get the glory for, and He has continually done that among us. What you see here at Wildwood is a work of God, and the fruit of prayer and faith in the lives of the believers who call Wildwood their home. Psalm 126:3 says it well, ‘The Lord has done great things for us, and we are glad.’”

Yucaipa Mayor Bobby Duncan was also present to celebrate the building dedication.

“Congratulations on this great building and the work that you’re doing,” said Duncan. “This truly is a great victory for sure. This is an amazing accomplishment - the student ministry building at Wildwood.”

After remarks by Duncan and Fraley, everyone in attendance was invited to tour the new building, interact with church staff, and enjoy a meal by JoJo’s Grill-A-Dog on the outdoor patio.
