A National Night Out highglights law enforcement

Friendly faces from Yucaipa Police Department.

Numerous law enforcement agencies joined Yucaipa Police Department on Tuesday, Aug. 6 for National Night Out. The free event, held at Yucaipa Community Center, was a hopping public safety fair complete with demonstrations, food vendors and local service organizations.

CHP Public Information Officer Ivan Sandoval said, “We participate in this every year. Last year it was held at the 66’ers Stadium. For us, it’s about educating and engaging the community. We’d like to remind the public to be cautious when you drive; don’t text and drive and to be compassionate to everyone on the road.”

In addition to CHP, YPD, Cal Fire, California Department of Fish and Game were out educating the public and meeting young fans.
