During this time of uncertainty, the Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified School District wants to assure the community and parents that we are continuing to serve our students in many ways.
This week our Child Nutrition Department and volunteers at our designated school sites: Calimesa Elementary School, Dunlap Elementary School, Ridgeview Elementary School, Valley Elementary School, Wildwood Elementary School, and Park View Middle School (11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. - Monday through Thursday) are working together to provide sack lunches, and breakfast for the following day for families in the community with youth eighteen years or younger. We are providing a drive-through setting for our families to pick up meals. Our heroes, Child Nutrition workers and volunteers, are ensuring our families receive some of their favorite lunch items. On our first day of serving, we served approximately 1700 meals to our youth in the community. We will continue to provide this support for our families after Spring Break, beginning April 6.
Our focus is to provide our students with educational opportunities during this time of school closures. We are offering a variety of learning opportunities for what best meets the needs of our students in multiple ways. If schools are closed beyond April 6, we are prepared to provide educational opportunities for our students and will communicate with parents and students on procedures and next steps. On April 6, school may look different, and learning will continue.
The district office is open this week to answer questions that families might have. During Spring Break, March 23 through April 3, please use these avenues to reach us:
