El Dorado Fire

Firefighters from all over the region and state fight the flames in the 2020 El Dorado Fire.

Almost a year after the El Dorado Fire, which scorched thousands of acres, displaced hundreds and claimed the life of a firefighter, San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office held an update today, July 20, at the  D.A.'s office in San Bernardino and announced that charges will be brought to the individuals (a couple) who started the fire. The fire was started as a result of a gender reveal stunt using pyrotechnic devices on Sept. 5, 2020, at the El Dorado Park on Oak Glen Road in Yucaipa.

Preliminary reports indicate that the couple will face at least eight felony counts and 22 misdemeanors counts of recklessly causing a fire, according to District Attorney Jason Anderson.
