On March 22, deputies investigated a reported theft from The Bungalows, located in the 33000 block of Chapman Heights Road. The female suspect, who was captured on video, stole 73 “disconnect fuses” from air conditioning units around the complex.

On March 23, at approximately 4 p.m., deputies contacted a white female adult, later identified as Wendy Whittemore, 52, transient, near the intersection of Bryant Avenue and Yucaipa Boulevard. Whittemore matched the description of the suspect seen on video stealing fuses the day before. A search revealed her to be in possession of approximately 50 of the stolen fuses. Whittemore was arrested and transported to Central Detention Center in San Bernardino for booking. The victim was contacted and the recovered stolen property was later returned.

Photos of Whittemore and the fuses are being released. If you purchased or received any items of this type from Whittemore, please contact Deputy Arthurton at the Yucaipa Station 918-2305.

Anyone with information related to the investigation is asked to contact the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department Yucaipa Station at 918-2305. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may contact We-Tip at 1-888-78-CRIME.
