Between July 19, and July 20, unknown suspects broke the locks to gain entry on to the Yucaipa High School campus and into the weight training area of the gym. Yucaipa High School's administrators discovered the suspects stole several sets of kettle bell weights and a weight stand. The Yucaipa Police Station was called to investigate the commercial burglary.

Through investigation, deputies learned most of the weights were sold through a local mobile marketplace application. The purchaser was contacted, and the purchased weights were recovered. Additional suspect leads were obtained, and two possible suspects were identified.

On July 26, Jacob Miller-Wilke, 24, of San Bernardino and Juan Ricon, 24, of San Bernardino were contacted at their respective residences. Miller-Wilke and Ricon were arrested for burglary and possession of stolen property. Both suspects were booked into Central Detention Center.

On July 27, a search warrant was served at one of the suspect’s residence and the stolen weight stand was recovered.
