Deputies recover improvised explosive devices following the service of a search warrant

On Wednesday, July 10, at 8:48 p.m., deputies from Yucaipa Station responded to the 34000 block of Wildwood Canyon Rd. in Yucaipa following the report of an assault.

After deputies arrived, they determined Dominic Champion Stucker, 24, of Yucaipa, choked the victim, bit her forehead and would not allow her to leave the location. Stucker eventually armed himself with a gun and the victim fled. During their investigation, deputies contacted and arrested Champion Stucker at his residence; however, the gun was not located.

Following his arrest, deputies served a search warrant at Champion Stucker’s residence and located three suspected improvised explosive devices. Two were determined to be functional, the third was determined to not be an actual explosive device. The Sheriff’s Department Bombs and Arson Division responded to the residence and rendered the devices safe.

Champion Stucker was arrested and booked into Central Detention Center for domestic violence, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a destructive device and is being held on $550,000 bail.
