On Sunday, June 23, at approximately 3:41 a.m., deputies and Cal Fire personnel responded to a reported fire at a vacant realty office located at 34556 Yucaipa Boulevard. Deputies discovered a fire in the brush adjacent to the building. The building also caught fire and responding Cal Fire personnel extinguished the blaze.

As deputies initially arrived, they located Kenneth Lindsey, 51, a transient, outside the building gathering belongings. Investigation revealed that Lindsey started a warming fire that spread into brush and, ultimately, to the building.

Lindsey was arrested for unlawfully starting a fire that resulted in property damage and was booked at West Valley Detention Center. He is being held on $25,000 bail.
