On July 21, at approximately 11:42 p.m., Deputy N. Silva was working proactive patrol in the Mentone. While patrolling the area of Opal Avenue and Nice Avenue, Silva noticed a gate to a storage yard had been cut open. The location was dark and there did not appear to be anyone around.

Deputy Silva began a search of the property and located Bradley Salser, 34, who is on probation for vehicle theft, hiding inside the property. Salser was detained without incident and burglary tools were located where Salser was contacted. A vehicle was found to be tampered with and moved. Investigation showed Salser forced entry into the property and was in the process of stealing the vehicle when Deputy Silva interrupted the crime.

Salser was booked for burglary, vehicle theft, outstanding warrants and violation of probation and is being held without bail.
