The AAUW Redlands Branch and the University of Redlands Public Policy Program will present a forum for the candidates for the California State Senate seat representing District 23, from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 28 in the Casa Loma Room on the U of R campus.
This event is open to the community at no charge.
Moderators will be Dorene Isenberg, economics professor and co-director of the public policy program at the U of R; Renee Van Vechten, political science professor at the U of R; and Cassie MacDuff, former Press-Enterprise columnist and member of AAUW, Redlands Branch.
Candidates who have confirmed that they will participate are: Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh of Yucaipa (R), Kris Goodfellow of Redlands (D), Abigail Medina of San Bernardino (D) and Lloyd White of Beaumont (R). Cristina Puraci of Highland (R) said she is unable to attend.
The state Senate District 23 seat is currently held by Mike Morrell (R), who is not seeking re-election.
AAUW, a non-partisan organization, works to advance gender equity for women and girls through research, education and advocacy. The Redlands branch has about 200 members and is the fifth largest branch in California.
This event is organized by the AAUW-Redlands Public Policy committee and co-sponsored by the University of Redlands.
