The Calimesa Event Center Grand Re-Opening

Calimesa Event Center’s Monica Robinson cuts the ribbon in the beautiful dining room of the center during the grand re-opening celebration held on July 20.

The Calimesa Event Center held its Grand Re-Opening on July 20, to showcase its new updates. The party featured a ribbon cutting, two bands, Pixie Sunshine and My Generation, a bounce house for kids, free appetizers as well as food such as hamburgers and fruit cups for purchase, and most importantly, tours of the renovated center.

“This place has changed a lot since the last time I was here. Monica Robinson has done a beautiful job redoing everything here. It all really seems to shine. Yucaipa and Calimesa has needed a place like this, an event center,” said Yucaipa resident Linda Witham.

Monica Robinson is the force behind the updates to the event center. “We have been so busy upgrading as much as possible here and it is still a work in progress. We will continue with the development and growth of this facility,” said Robinson.

The Calimesa Event Center, previously the Calimesa Country Club, opened in 1958. It is owned by Art Braswell and while it no longer offers golf, it does offer many events as well as a place to host events.

Upgrades that have been made include new interior flooring and paint and an update on décor throughout the facility. The former pro shop has been transformed into Bridal and Groom rooms for weddings.

The event center is available to rent for events, has plenty of parking, is a private location and is surrounded by greenery. Staff can help with decorations and the center offers many of its own decor that is available.

Rental of the event center for a wedding gives you access to the property and facilities for the entire day. You can use the center’s preferred service partners or bring in your own vendors.

The center is equipped with a bounce house and photo booth that is available for events. The center has a full bar available.

Currently the event center hosts the Calimesa Concerts on the Green on Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Bring a chair or blanket out and enjoy the music. The concert series will run through Aug. 29.

On Oct. 6 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. you can join in for a Muddy Princess 5K Obstacle run. This event is for princesses of all size, age and fitness level. For more information about this event, visit
