American Road Trip serves classic American favorites

The Yucaipa restaurant just added 13 new items to its already flavorful menu.

Some of the newly added menu items include street tacos, a cheesy macaroni, grilled shrimp jalapeno lime salad, a pot roast melt, barbecue chicken sandwich, a barbecue brisket sandwich, prime rib burger, pastrami pizza, eggplant parmesan, chicken parmesan, pasta costolette, and nacho delights.

One highly sought out menu item that American Road Trip has brought back is the flavorful Hang 10 Burger.

“Mike and I are blessed to be part of a wonderful community that has supported us since day one. We’re excited with the new menu entrees,” said Keith Bishop, co-owner.

The American restaurant is co-owned by Bishop and Mike Miller.

April 1, 2018, will mark the four year anniversary of when Bishop and Miller bought the restaurant from the previous owner.

Something unique about the way American Road Trip is it often updates the menu and serves seasonal drinks year-round.

“Every year the menu is updated. The shrimp salad and the prime rib burger are my favorite new items on the menu. We also have a new drink menu coming out very soon,” said Tami Sattler, bar lead.

One of the new menu items locals have been raving about is the light, crispy and refreshing grilled shrimp jalapeno salad.

“The pasta costolette is creamy, it’s different, it has a sweet smokey flavor,” said Bishop.

A special feature to the restaurant is that it make’s all of the dressings and salsas in-house.

“All dressings and salsas are made in house everyday. I also make a homemade Jack Daniel’s barbecue sauce that people seem to love,” said Antonio Arenas, chef. “I hope everyone enjoys the food and stops by to check out our new menu entree’s.”

The nacho delights are a proven hit on the brand new menu. It’s fried tortilla chips covered with cinnamon and sugar, loaded with vanilla ice cream and cheesecake bites; it’s topped with whip cream, chocolate, caramel sauce and a cherry.

“The nacho delights are my favorite. It’s a light, decadent and sweet dessert. We have happy hour Monday through Saturday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and all day Sunday. We offer drafts, well drinks and wines half price; and all appetizers are four bucks off,” said Becky Allen, manager.

The family friendly restaurant features a full bar, big screen TV’s, and a juke box.

It’s also hosting a fun-filled Fat Tuesday event on Feb. 13.
