The city of Calimesa is seeking candidates to fill a vacant city council position to serve the community.
The Calimesa City Council took action on Dec. 21 to fill the vacancy through an appointment process and to open the process up to individuals interested in applying for appointment. Upon appointment, the appointee will hold office for the balance of the vacant unexpired four-year term which is Nov. 8, 2022.
Presentations will be made by each applicant and city councilmembers will make their appointment at the Jan. 19 regularly scheduled meeting.
Minimum eligibility requirements
Any interested applicant must be a Calimesa resident, a registered voter in Calimesa and available to attend city council meetings on the first and third Monday of each month.
Any application that does not meet the minimum eligibility requirements will not be considered for this vacancy.

Applications are available by contacting Calimesa City Hall, at 908 Park Ave. in Calimesa, or on the city’s website at www.cityofcalimesa.net. Please note that due to COVID-19, Calimesa City Hall is closed to the public. However, appointments can be made with the city clerk to obtain an application or to submit a completed application.
All applications must be received by the City Clerk’s Office no later than 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 12. Completed applications will be accepted via email or in-person, but must be received by the Jan. 12 deadline at the following:
