Inland Leaders Charter School Foundation held its third annual gala on Feb. 28 and hundreds of guests attended an elaborate circus-themed evening of fundraising at the National Orange Show Center in San Bernardino. It was a real “Carnival of Dreams” with lots of action. ILCS Director Mike Gordon introduced Foundation President Dr. Jay Jimenez who served as master of ceremonies and circus ringleader for the evening. Jimenez was dressed for the role. There was plenty of entertainment at the four-hour event. Student performances ranged from magic acts, tumbling acts to musical performances.
Cal Fire and Riverside County Engine 21 fire fighters quickly extinguished a house fire this morning, at 8 a.m., Jan. 10, at the 13000 block on Third Street near County Line Road in Yucaipa.
Calimesa Police Department personnel arrested William Donald Johnson, 42, for felony hit and run on Jan. 6 in connection with the Dec. 29 traffic collision that sent a bicyclist to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition with life threatening internal injuries.
California Highway Patrol responded at a traffic collision at 10 a.m. on Dec. 26 at the Interstate 10 at County Line Road off-ramp. They found Hyanyu Wang, 51, a resident of Hacienda Heights, who was traveling westbound on I-10, had lost control of his vehicle, left the paved road and struck a tree on the northern shoulder. Wang was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center emergency room where he was pronounced deceased at 10:52 a.m.
There was a fatal traffic collision involving an older model Volkswagen sedan and a single male occupant, today around 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 26 on the I-10 freeway, near County Line Road. Official details are not yet available (CHP is handling the investigation)- but according to our photographer, it was a single car collision.
Yucaipa Director of Development Services Joe Lambert presented Ordinance 326, the prohibition of bikes and skateboards at the Historic Uptown Market Night’s event, to city council on Dec. 9.

On Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 7:24 a.m., deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff's Cabazon Station responded to a reported traffic collision on the 800 block of Mustang Way. Upon arrival, deputies located a Dodge Magnum which had collided with four other vehicles traveling in the opposite direction on Mustang Way.
